General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
As from May 2018 this new legal protection tells you what personal information I hold and why and what your rights are.

I need to gather and retain potentially sensitive information about your health in order to give a professional reflexology treatment, I will only use this information for informing reflexology treatments and associated recommendations concerning aspects of health and well being which I will offer you. As a full member of the Association of Reflexologists I abide by the AOR Code of Practise and Ethics.
In order to give a professional reflexology treatment I need to keep information on your health, the information I hold is your contact details, medical history and other health related information, treatment details and related notes. I will NOT share your information with anyone else other than within my own practise or as required for legal process. I will retain your information for 7 years after last treatment as required by insurance.Law for children’s records to be kept until the child is 25 or if 17 when treated then 26.
I am committed to ensuring that your personal data is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure. I have in place appropriate safeguards and secure the information collected from you. I will contact you using the contact method supplied by you in relation to appointment times and reflexology health information.
Your rights are that you have the right to be informed to know how your information is held and used. The right to access your therapists records. The right to rectification to tell your therapist to make changes to your information if it is incorrect or incomplete.
The right to erasure for you to request that your information is to be erased but this cannot happen until 7 years are completed.
You have the right to restrict how your data is used and the right to object if you do not want the therapist to use certain arts of your data.

THERAPIST RIGHTS.
If you do not agree to your therapist keeping records of information about you and your treatments, or if you do not allow them to use the information in the way they need to for treatments, the therapist may not be able to treat you.
Your therapist has to keep your records
of treatment for a certain period of time as described above, which may mean that eve you asking them to erase any details about you, they might have to keep these details until after that period has passed.
