Fertility, Pregnancy & Menopause

Fertility

About 1 in 7 heterosexual couples in the UK see fertility advice. The time it takes to conceive naturally vaires.

There may be various reasons why couples are having difficulties conceiving, but for approximately 25% of couples no reason can be found, this is unexplained fertility. This also applies to same sex relationships, who have been unable to conceive through donor insemination. In either case stress levels are likely to be high.

If you are trying to conceive, reflexology can help support you and your partner physically and emotionally.

As a reflexologist, I will aim to provide relaxation and stress reduction which are all beneficial to conception.

Reflexology gives you the opportunity to take time for yourself.

Fertility, Pregnancy & Menopause

Pregnancy

There are times during pregnancy that women may need additional support, with additional stress and worry plus the hormonal changes happening in the body over this period.

Reflexology during pregnancy aims to assist the emotional and physical health of the client.

It allows you time away from your busy life giving you time for yourself, giving you time to think and concentrate on you and your baby.

Women are choosing reflexology throughout pregnancy and postnatally as it can offer many benefits as aiding relaxation, improve sleep, reducing anxiety, also with symptoms such:

  • Constipation
  • Heartburn
  • Low back pain
  • Anxiety
  • Depression

As a reflexologist each client is treated as an individual so by listening and questioning means I can plan your reflexology treatment.

Menopause

This marks the end of a woman’s reproductive years. But it should be seen as a new beginning moving into the next phase of your life. Menopause can be classified into three stages:

  • Perimenopause
  • Menopause
  • Post menopause

Approximately 8 out of 10 women in the UK experience some symptoms, the most common hot flushes and night sweats. Other symptoms to name a few can be:

  • Mood swings
  • Anxiety
  • Memory problems
  • Lack of concentration
  • Weight gain
  • Change in body shape
  • Skin changes
  • Loss of libido

Reflexologoxy aims to support and ease some of the many menopausal symptoms. As a reflexologist, I recognise every client is unique and I am here to listen and question so I can plan your reflexology treatment, and also to offer small achievable life style advice.

I am not here to diagnose, and if symptoms persist, I would urge you to seek medical advice. This applies to all my clients.
